Why NDI is not showing in OBS?

Fix OBS NDI Plugin not showing in studio

Before starting guide, I assume that you've installed NDI 4 Tools and OBS NDI. To download these 2 files, please go below. Or, follow this full guide.

Required :

OBS installed already.

So, if obs studio is already installed, then while installing OBS NDI, then it will ask about in which directory to install. Note that directory. And once it is installed, go to that directory and plugins, then finds two files there.

obs-ndi. dll and obs-ndi.pdb

Copy these two files and go to your obs studio installed directry, then to obs plugins, and paste these two files.

Now, open OBS studio, go to add, you will fine NDI Source there.

This is basic quick fix for OBS NDI not showing in obs studio and streamlabs.

(if something issue comes up, please comment)

Why NDI is not showing in OBS?

I am having same issue. In Studio Monitor and vMix machine both sees my laptop monitor connected with the integrated Intel graphics card, but the external monitor is going thru the nVidia graphics card and is NOT detected by Studio Monitor nor from my vMix machine.

On the Dell Precision BIOS, i know there is a setting to diable the integraded Intel HD graphics card so both the laptop monitor and external monitor both run thru the nVidia and works fine.

Is this disabling the integrated Intel graphics card available in the G5 BIOS? I've tried to look for it and didn't find anything to accomplish this, to my knowledge.

I have installed the latest version of OBS and NTI tools on a 2017 Macbook Pro Running OS Catalina 10.15.7 and the same on a PC.

On the Mac, OBS does not have an option for adding NDI sources but with NDI video Monitor I can see the NDI stream being shared from the PC screen capture.

The PC running OBS also can not add an NDI stream but can see the Mac scan converter screen in NDI studio monitor.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

By "latest version", I assume you mean 28.0? Per the release notes, plugins need to be updated, and NDI hasn't been. There's a workaround using a third-party version: see discussion here or follow the development of the main version on GitHub

I downloaded and installed the OBS-NDI plugin along with the NewTek NDI requirements. I was trying to use OBS Camera on my iPhone 8, after following their provided instructions for connecting to OBS using NDI and trying other NDI Camera Apps, nothing is working. The NDI source in OBS does not give me any available sources outside of my own desktop. I need to have at least 2 wireless NDI cameras for a upcoming project in a few weeks, and the budget does not allow for any new purchases.

OBS has been restarted
Desktop (windows 10) has been restarted
The NewTek NDI has been uninstalled and reinstalled
OBS Camera (iPhone) has been uninstalled and reinstalled
TC Camera (iPhone) has also been uninstalled and reinstalled
Both the Desktop and iPhone are on the exact same Wi-Fi (5Ghz) / Connected both devices to another WAP that is also 5Ghz and no connection between OBS Camera and OBS Studio

I waited with the app running on the iPhone for 10 minutes in between each restart, seeing if maybe it was taking a while to connect.

Here is the last log from OBS

You must contact the people involved on that plugin for support.

I have already reached out x2 and gotten no reaponse. I figured someone else might have run into this issue, hence, why I'm here.

you have to make sure the version of the NDI plugin is compatible with the version of OBS you are using. Latest version of many plugins only works on 28.

It appears that the Palakis/obs-ndi plugin for v28 is still in development. On its github page someone noted: "The update is still in development. You can still test the alpha version for v28 located in here: https://github.com/Palakis/obs-ndi/actions/runs/2977380826"
I've had the same problem you're having KenseiDSG. The suggested solution I've seen is to downgrade OBS to 27.2.4. I'm about to try that myself.

So I’ve just started using a dual pc set up for streaming using NDI. I’ve set it all up fine except when I open obs on the stream pc it brings the fps on the gaming pc down to like 1/2fps. Any idea what might be causing this would be amazing thank you!

How do I get OBS to recognize NDI?

Adding NDI sources to OBS You can bring NDI video sources into OBS using the “NDI Source” option available in the sources menu. This allows you to name the NDI source and search through a list of available NDI sources on your network.

How do I add NDI camera to OBS?

First of all make sure you have OBS Studio installed..
Download the NewTek NDI plugin for OBS Studio. You can download the plugin from GitHub here or from the OBS Studio plugin directory here. ... .
Download and install the Camera for OBS Studio iOS App..
Configure the device output. ... .
Add the NDI input into your OBS Studio Scene..

Does OBS NDI work on Windows 11?

I stream iRacing using OBS with the NDI plug in from my gaming PC to my laptop. I never had any issue streaming it this way even after I updated both PC's to Windows 11.
