Why do I have an ad account creation limit?

So, what should we do to increase the limit? Right, your favorite thing (being sarcastic here), to contact technical support of Facebook. So go to contacts page at https://www.facebook.com/business/resources/ and choose “Add Account Settings” or “Ad Management Tools”.

Weird, as we’ve never faced this issue with Google Ads. Have you experienced the same problem? 

I’ve got the answer, and it’s easier than you think. 

After scouring the internet for information, I was at a loss. Nothing seemed to work.

I tried: 

• Deleting old ad accounts
• Fixing errors on active accounts
• Paying outstanding invoices in billing accounts

And it still wouldn’t allow me to create more ad accounts in our Business Manager.

After talking with another marketer who experienced the same issue, I found the solution.

All you have to do is talk to Facebook Support directly.

Years ago, that would have taken ages, but I could open an actual chat conversation in Facebook Messenger within minutes. 

After explaining the issue to the Facebook rep, he told us he would escalate our case to his superiors. 

Five hours later, I received an e-mail that said our ad account limit was lifted. I tried making a new ad account, and it worked! Problem solved.

If you’re faced with this issue, make sure no accounts have any errors and contact Facebook directly. 

How to contact Facebook Support directly? 

1. Open your business manager.
2. Press the ? icon in the top right corner
3. Create a new case or press the contact button, it’s different on every account

It will open a Messenger-window, and you can chat with a rep directly. This differs per country but worked in the US and Belgium. 

Facebook has a limit on the number of ads you can create in an account. This can be a problem for businesses that want to create more ads or for people who want to create more than one ad campaign.

I’ve faced this problem at the agency I work at and also on my personal projects.

So, how to increase the number of Facebook ad accounts you can create?

And the solution is to contact Facebook Support and ask them to remove the ad account restrictions.

Though it sounds easy, I must say, it’s not as easy as contacting Google Ads support.

When it comes to customer support, based on my 10 years of experience, I can clearly say, Facebook ads treat agencies and individuals differently. Also, they have a different set of support restrictions for different geographic locations.

So, if you are an agency and are able to contact support, this solution works.

For personal projects, I usually create different accounts for different projects to avoid this problem.

1. Open Facebook Business Manager

2. Click on the “Settings” tab

3. Under “Ad Accounts”, you will see the number of ad accounts you have and the account limit for each

4. If you want to increase your account limit, contact Facebook support

For personal accounts, Facebook lets create up to 25 accounts. Like many other things, Facebook also has Ad Account Creation Limits. I must say, 25 accounts should be enough for individuals. However, for agencies, the only solution like we mentioned earlier, is contacting Facebook Support.
