We were pretty impressed by the high-quality magnesium alloy used for its construction and the 3.2-inch 1,040,000-dot Clear View II TFT LCD screen. However, the screen doesn’t articulate, which results in a less enjoyable video shooting experience.  

    Performance

    A powerful AF system forms the foundation of a great camera. Mark features an upgraded 61-point wide-area autofocus system with 41 cross-type and five dual cross-type points for precise focusing. Moreover, there are customizable AF presets that aid photographers while shooting complex subjects. With six AF area selection modes and a complex continuous AF mode, you are completely set for the job.  

    Moving on, the 6fps burst shooting mode may be inadequate for some photographers but works well for most enthusiasts. However, wildlife photographers may find the quiet mode extremely useful as it utilizes a new mechanism instead of a mirror to dampen the noise.

    Further on, our final results demonstrated a high level of detail with a pleasant color representation and proper exposure while the video quality matched our high expectations too.

Fortunately, the camera doesn’t need an anti-aliasing filter as the sensor design combats any moire interference on its own. Fujifilm has firm control over chromatic noise, and the images didn’t feature any major signs of deterioration up till ISO6400. The JPEG images, on the other hand, feature subtle hints of luminous noise but nothing too major to ruin the details. Moving on, images at ISO12800 are worth mentioning as the results are quite decent, but it’s better to avoid this setting if you don’t appreciate softened images.
