Two cubes each of volume 343 cu. cm are joined end to end

Formula Used:

Volume of cube = side3

Total surface area of cuboid = 2(length × breath + breath × height + height × length)

Calculation:

Volume of each cube = 343

Volume of cube = side3

⇒ Side of cube = 3√343

⇒ Side of cube = 7cm

 Total surface area of cuboid = 2(length × breath + breath × height + height × length)

When two cubes are putt side by side, then length = 7 + 7 = 14 cm

Height = 7 cm

Breadth = 7 cm

∴ Total surface area = 2(14 × 7 + 7 × 7 + 14 × 7)

⇒ 2 (98 + 49 + 98)

⇒ 490

∴ Surface area of cuboid is 490 cm2
