What happens when you say La ilaha illallah before you die

Muslims believe that when a human being dies, their soul returns to their creator, awaiting the Day Of Judgement. In Islam, we can take solace in knowing that we will be united with those we love, and that death is just the beginning of the journey to our permanent home in the afterlife.

From the hadith, it says to those who recite 100 times it as if: You get the reward of manumitting (setting free) ten slaves. One-hundred good deeds will be written in his account. One-hundred bad deeds will be wiped off or erased from his account.

The afterlife After death, most Muslims believe that the soul will enter Barzakh, a state of waiting, until the Day of Judgement. When a person dies, their soul is taken by Azra'il, the Angel of Death. God sends two angels to question the waiting soul.

Those present when the person passes should continue tradition by saying “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un”. This means “Verily we belong to Allah, and truly to Him shall we return” and is a must for all Muslims who have since passed from this world.
