Download the PS Messenger App for your mobile device.

On your ps4 send yourself a message with the picture.

Load the message on your phone from the PS Messenger app

Save or copy from your phone :D

• I'm not sure if it's changed to the default since the f/w was released, but newer PS4 owners might not know that you can change the default screenshot format from .JPG to .PNG

PNG is a lossless format = better quality shots

(I found it disappointing before the .PNG option that you'd capture something to hopefully use as a desktop wallpaper, but it didn't look nearly as good as it did on the PS4)

Definitely the easiet way to get it on your phone. Once its on their really easy to send it to friends and what not as well!

So I happened upon this thread after googling how to send a screenshot to my phone, and yes, I'm commenting on a comment that is 5 years old, but happy cake day!

On my phone I just connect it to the PS4 via USB and transfer the pics.

What phone do you have? Does it just pop up as a USB device to transfer to on the PS4?

Or you could e-mail them to your phone number. Just depends on your carrier. For me on AT&T it's: (number goes here)@txt.att.net

Dont get me wrong, that is useful, but I wonder how many don't have a regular web browser or email client on their phones nowadays.

I happen to have one of these and found it's useful for that. I just save screenshot to USB then plug it into my phone. This assumes you have a phone that lets you do that (I don't think iphones have a microusb and i've never used a Windows phone). Model number is MUF-32CB/AM

Buy an OTG cable

You can always post them to Facebook private, Copy it, then delete it from fb

I believe they'd lose a lot of quality to compression.

Go to twitter.

Save image, delete tweet.

I created a twitter account solely for the picture. I just open it up on my phone and save them, it's a while lot easier than the usb->computer way.

Is this still possible? I have the ps app but can't send myself a message from my ps4. Apologies if I'm being an idiot......

Possible solution:

1. Make another account

2. Friend that other account

3. Have ps app connected to original account

4. Send screenshot from new account to new account

It shouldn't recognise as the same user, so it should therefore still be able to send.

You can now easily capture screenshots on your PS4 with the inclusion of the new SHARE button on the DualShock 4 controller. This can be done either through the short or long press settings configured for your SHARE button. Kindly follow me through the different options that you have on how you can capture and share your PS4 screenshots; Option 1: Through the SHARE button or; Option 2: On A Separate Platform.

You can’t miss the SHARE button on the new controller for the latest PS4. It’s sitting on the left-hand side of the touch pad (as shown in the screenshot below). A short press on SHARE button (by default) will take you into the Share’s interface. In order to capture a screen shot, you’ll need to perform a long press. Alternatively, change your Share Settings to Easy Screenshots where the press works in contrary of the defaulted settings. 

1 Upload Screenshots

Go back to the Share’s interface and select Upload Screenshot. Simply browse through the screenshot that you’ll like to share or upload and then click once to select it. You can also hit Options instead to preview the details of the screenshot before.

2 Share to Facebook or Twitter

You can choose to share your screenshots online through Facebook or Twitter. Please take note that you will have to log-in to your Facebook or Twitter account prior to uploading your screenshots and be prompted with a message to give your permission. You’ll only have to go through this once.

3 Insert Comment

Select either one account to share your captured screenshots and before you proceed with the Share button, Name it as well as type in whatever comments you have. Now you’re ready to go!

Use third party software for screenshot sharing.
