Follow the steps below to determine if your processor supports Windows® 10 using the code name listed in the table below.

Identify the processor: Press the Windows key
on your keyboard and start typing "System", choose System Information, which will show Processor information with the name and the number.
Go to the product specification site and type the processor number in the search box. Once you see the processor in the drop-down, click it.
On the product specification page under Essentials, the second line lists the code name.
Locate the code name in the table below, and determine if your processor supports Windows® 10.
For example: The processor is i7-10700K.
1. Enter the processor number in the search box on the Product specification site.
2. The Code Name is located under Essentials.
3. Locate the code name in the table below, and determine if your processor supports Windows® 10. In the example given, the i7-10700K has the code name Comet Lake. In the table below, we can see that the processor supports Windows® 10, 64-bit.

KOMPAS.com - Sistem operasi Windows 8.1 akan dipensiunkan pada 10 Januari 2023 mendatang. Microsoft selaku empunya sistem operasi pun mengirim pengingat kepada para pengguna Windows 8.1.

Pemberitahuan itu muncul melalui jendela pop-up berukuran jumbo. Di dalam jendela tersebut, Microsoft mengatakan bahwa waktu pensiun Windows 8.1 semakin dekat dan akan menghentikan semua dukungan pada tanggal tersebut, termasuk pembaruan keamanan.

Melalui halaman resminya, Microsoft juga menganjurkan pengguna untuk segera beralih ke sistem operasi yang terbaru yakni Windows 11. Sebab, penghentian dukungan ini akan berlaku untuk semua versi Windows 8.1 dan tidak ada dukungan tambahan.

Microsoft juga mengatakan bahwa pihaknya tidak akan memberi program Extended Security Update (ESU). Artinya, pengguna tidak akan bisa membayar dalam bentuk apapun untuk memperpanjang masa dukungan Windows 8.1.

Perlakuan berbeda dengan Windows 7. Saat Windows 7 dipensiunkan, Microsoft membuka program ESU untuk memperpanjang dukungan keamanan dengan cara berbayar.

"Dukungan untuk Windows 8.1 akan berakhir pada 10 Januari 2023 untuk semua edisi, di mana bantuan teknis dan pembaruan perangkat lunak tidak akan lagi diberikan," tulis Microsoft, dikutip dari halaman resmi Microsoft, Kamis (14/7/2022).

"Melanjutkan penggunaan Windows 8.1 setelah 10 Januari 2023, dapat meningkatkan risiko keamanan," lanjut perusahaan.

Pengguna sendiri masih memiliki waktu beberapa bulan sampai dukungan untuk Windows 8.1 benar-benar dihentikan.

Selama beberapa bulan tersebut, Microsoft akan terus mengirimkan pengingat kepada pengguna untuk segera beralih ke Windows terbaru.

Apabila terganggu, pengguna bisa meminta sistem mengirim kembali pengingat tersebut di waktu mendatang. Atau pengguna bisa meminta sistem mengingatkan saat dukungan Windows 8.1 berakhir.

Microsoft juga mengatakan, jika perangkat yang digunakan pengguna tidak mendukung sistem operasi terbaru yaitu Windows 11, pengguna dianjurkan untuk segera mengganti perangkat.

Pasalnya sebagian besar perangkat yang berjalan dengan OS Windows 8.1 tidak kompatibel dengan sistem operasi baru. Untuk menggunakan Windows 11, Microsoft memang menerapkan persyaratan yang ketat.

“Sebagai alternatif, PC Windows 8 dan 8.1 yang kompatibel dapat ditingkatkan ke Windows 10,” jelas Microsoft, dikutip KompasTekno dari The Verge, Kamis (14/7/2022).

Windows sudah mengumumkan waktu pensiun Windows 8.1 sejak Januari 2018. Hal tersebut diberitakan perusahaan setelah menghentikan Mainstream Support Windows 8.1 pada 9 Januari 2018.
