Hi, I have next generation setup of mobile studio with iPad Pro USB-C hub with PD Power Delivery. It is connected to USB Audio class compliant device (Behringer UMC1820 or Audient iD44 will do).

They provide ADAT for multichannel audio as well as midi input and output.

Mac is easier as if you connect iPad to Mac OS via USB cable, thanks to Core Midi, you get this out of the box.

So I open Studio One 5.5 and in Preferences -> Midi -> Synchronization set Sync To External Device.

On iPad I use Cubasis 3.4 (or Audiobus 3) and Cubasis sends midi clock in preferences. Now I see in Studio One left bottom corner, midi icon blink, I open it and see all midi messages. There is midi clock as well as song position, midi start and midi stop messages incoming on channels 9 and channel 13.

But this icon in Studio One blink red and these messages are ignored even if it is set to sync=on and sync external device=iPad and Studio One midi monitor shows device=iPad and there are midi messages in the log.

What is going on? Anyone got this working? This same thing happens on Windows 10 PC via USB Midi cable. Studio One is simply ignoring this device even it is set to be the sync source.

EDIT: Cubasis 3.4 uses Midi Clock while Studio One expects Midi Time Code (MTC). So the question is how to convert Midi Clock protocol from iOS to MTC protocol? It can be a specific Mac or Win software, it can be Arduino DIY hardware or Audiobus plugin or AUv3 plugin, etc.
