Sign into your Facebook account.
Click on the "Friends" option below your profile picture in the column on the left side of the page.
Click the "Manage Friend List" button at the top of the page.
Click the "+Create a List" button at the top of the page; a pop-up window will appear with a list of all your friends.
Type in "Mutual" in the "Enter a Name" field at the top of the Create a New List window, to name the friends list "Mutual." Alternatively you can name the list with any other name you wish.
Scroll through the list of friends in the pop-up window and click on any friends you want to add to the "Mutual" list.
Click the "Create List" button at the bottom of the window to create the new list.

I'll try and explain the situation more clearly.

Let's say I'm friends with X. I then visit A's profile, with whom I don't have a friendship on Facebook.I can see its "friends in common list", and I see that X is a mutual friend.

Then I visit B's profile, with whom I don't have a friendship on FB either. I know for sure X and B are friends on FB because of some reason.I can see many mutual friends with B, but not X.

How come is that? I have noticed it many times. Does it have to do with X selecting who I can and cannot see as a mutual friend, or does it have to do with A's and B's privacy settings?
