In this tutorial we are going to look at how easy it is to import your events, meetings and such from Excel into your Google Calendar.

If you are going to import events or meetings from Excel into Google Calendar, you need to set up the headings with very specific titles in a certain order. Here is an example of three entries with the proper headings:

Not every field needs to be completed for every entry, for example you don't have to include a description or location for every event, but it is important that you use these very specific headings in the order shown.

Once you have all your data entered, you need to save the file as a CSV file:

Next, open your Google Calendar, click on the gear icon and choose settings:

In the left column shoose "Import & Export". Then click on the gray box that says "Select file from your computer":

Choose the file from the location you saved it, and then click on "Import".

Go back to your calendar and refresh the page. The new entries should appear! If you have any issues, watch the video and see how easy it is to do!

This article explains how to transfer data from Excel to Google Calendar using the Excel Add-In for Google Calendar.

The CData Excel Add-In for Google Calendar enables you to edit and save Google Calendar data directly from Excel. This article explains how to transfer data from Excel to Google Calendar. This technique is useful if you want to work on Google Calendar data in Excel and update changes, or if you have a whole spreadsheet you want to import into Google Calendar. In this example, you will use the VacationCalendar table; however, the same process will work for any table that can be retrieved by the CData Excel Add-In.

Establish a Connection

If you have not already done so, create a new Google Calendar connection by clicking From Google Calendar on the ribbon.

You can connect to Google APIs on behalf of individual users or on behalf of a domain. Google uses the OAuth authentication standard. See the "Getting Started" section of the help documentation for a guide.

Retrieve Data from Google Calendar

To insert data into Google Calendar, you will first need to retrieve data from the Google Calendar table you want to add to. This links the Excel spreadsheet to the Google Calendar table selected: After you retrieve data, any changes you make to the data are highlighted in red.

Click the From Google Calendar button on the CData ribbon. The Data Selection wizard is displayed.
In the Table or View menu, select the VacationCalendar table.
In the Maximum Rows menu, select the number of rows you want to retrieve. If you want to insert rows, you need to retrieve only one row. The Query box will then display the SQL query that corresponds to your request.
In the Sheet Name box, enter the name for the sheet that will be populated. By default the add-in will create a new sheet with the name of the table.

Insert Rows to Google Calendar

After retrieving data, you can add data from an existing spreadsheet in Excel.

In a cell after the last row, enter a formula referencing the corresponding cell from the other spreadsheet; for example, =MyVacationCalendarSheetInExcel!A1.
After using a formula to reference the cells you want to add to Google Calendar, select the cells that you are inserting data into and drag the formula down as far as needed. The referenced values you want to add will be displayed on the VacationCalendar sheet.
Highlight the rows you want to insert and click the Update Rows button.

As each row is inserted, the Id value will appear in the Id column and the row's text will change to black, indicating that the record has been inserted.
